Solid Waste

Solid wastes consist of municipal waste, such as common household and commercial garbage, and construction debris. Approximately 60 percent of this waste is disposed of in landfills. The Environmental Protection Agency, along with the use of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, works to ensure that these landfill structures pose the least risk to the environment.

The greatest hazard of a landfill is leachate. To ensure that the leachate does not enter and contaminate the surrounding ground water and soil, a geosynthetic liner must be placed by a qualified installer inside and over the landfill cell.

Here at Chesapeake Containment Systems, we specialize in the deployment of geomembranes and geotextiles. Our extensive experience in the installation of these materials allows our company to work safely and efficiently to provide our customers with an environmentally sound synthetic layer.
